UK tribute band to perform in KL in conjunction with The Beatles’ 60th anniversary

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12 — Fans of The Beatles can rejoice as its tribute band The Mersey Beatles is coming to Kuala Lumpur this August 26 and 27.

The band has been lauded as the best Beatle tribute band by the British Beatles Fan Club. It was also praised by John Lennon’s sister Julia Baird, who said that The Mersey Beatles have ‘absolutely nailed the sounds of The Beatles’.

And in conjunction with The Beatles’ 60th anniversary, the tribute band will be having a two-day show at The Platform in Menara Ken, TTDI with two performances per day.

The Mersey Beatles consists of four members who are Mark Bloor, Steven Howard, Brian Ambrose and Craig McGown, each representing John, Paul, Ringo and George, respectively.

Since 1999, the tribute band has travelled around the world and performed at most Beatles festivals.

Local Beatles fans can expect to sing along to some of the band’s greatest hits such as Yesterday, Hey Jude, Here Comes the Sun and Let it Be.

Just like the original 1960s band, The Mersey Beatles members were all born and raised in Liverpool and were also the resident band of the world-famous Cavern Club, the very venue The Beatles were discovered 60 years ago.

After Malaysia, The Mersey Beatles will be heading home to Liverpool to stage the biggest ever Beatles tribute show at the prestigious M&S Bank Arena to a crowd of spectators.

Tickets for The Mersey Beatles’ Come Together are priced from RM188 to RM368.
