KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 — As Thailand taps into weed economy, a local company there has found a way to merge unique attractions with the growing cannabis culture.

Budler is currently aiming to create safe and fun experiences for tourists, especially cannabis-centric ones, by providing tours and activities across the land of smiles.

Amongst the packages offered on their website is a guided marijuana tour across Old Bangkok — where tourists will get the chance to visit award-winning dispensaries while taking in majestic views of the Chao Phraya River.

The tour also includes visits to surrounding cultural heritage sites which include the Emerald Buddha Temple, The Grand Palace, Chinatown as well as the famous Khao San Road.

Another highlighted package on the site is the Green on All Levels e-Tour where tourists will be provided with an e-book that will guide them to five different experiences from well-known dispensaries around Bangkok.

Tourists will also be able to claim exclusive items or perks from each selected dispensary they’ve visited and the site recommended this package to those wanting to learn more about cannabis regulation in Thailand.

Bookings for the Old Bangkok tour must be made via their Instagram page but the page is currently unavailable after a quick check by Malay Mail.

However the ‘Green on All Levels e-Tour’ is available for purchase on their site for 1,890 baht (RM243.35).

Thailand first legalised the adoption of cannabis for medical purposes in 2018.

By June 2022, the Thai government moved to decriminalise the distribution, cultivation, consumption as well as marketing of all parts of the cannabis plant.

The Thai Food and Drug Administration has also removed the cannabis plant from the Category 5 narcotics list, although smoking cannabis in public areas is still prohibited.

According to a research by GVR published in October 2022, the Thailand legal cannabis market is expected to reach US$9.6 billion (RM43.3 billion) by 2030.
