‘Paris in a pint’: Häagen-Dazs and renowned pastry chef Pierre Hermé’s macaron ice cream collection now in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 — Ever wondered what happens when you combine crunchy sweet macarons and rich ice cream?

Luxury ice cream maker Häagen-Dazs has joined hands with world-renowned macaron pastry chef Pierre Hermé to conjure up a new macaron range that has hit Malaysian shelves.

Malaysians will be able to savour the decadent Häagen-Dazs ice cream with a Parisian twist.

The smooth ice cream will contain chunks of crunchy, chewy macaron shells with Hermé’s signature almond flavour.

Savour a tastebud trip of a lifetime with Häagen-Dazs x Pierre Hermé Strawberry & Raspberry, a reinterpretation of France’s most classic dessert.

Indulge in a tangy raspberry sauce mixed with macaron shells, delicately balanced with the sweetness of strawberry ice cream.

The Häagen-Dazs x Pierre Hermé Double Chocolate Ganache will be a treat for chocolate lovers as they scoop through the velvety smooth salted dark chocolate ganache swirled through Häagen-Dazs’ creamy chocolate ice cream.

Combined with mini macaron shells, the ice cream will be a decadent chocolate experience.

A limited edition Yuzu and Lemon flavour will only be available at Häagen-Dazs shops as part of their new Summer Menu featuring unique ice cream creations made with Hermé.

The summer menu includes three new ice drinks, two new exquisite Le Macaron cakes, and three new Macaron Kiss Cones with two scoops of ice cream.

The Häagen-Dazs X Pierre Hermé collection will be available at major supermarkets, hypermarkets, and convenience stores at the retail price of RM34.50 a pint.

From June 15 to 30 Malaysians can try a free scoop at Häagen-Dazs outlets in Sunway Velocity, KL and Autocity, Penang by using their fun Instagram filter to find out which of the two macaron ice cream flavours you are.

All you need to do is share your IG filter results and tag Häagen-Dazs Malaysia.

“I am very excited and proud of our new collaboration,” Hermé said in a statement on working with the luxury ice cream brand.

“For the past twenty years, I have constantly been creating and reinterpreting my macaron recipes, which is my favourite creative terrain.”

“My macarons are my identity so to put them in an ice cream I needed to work with the very best.”

Häagen-Dazs Global Brand Director Manuel Garabato said that both parties were passionate about reinterpreting classic desserts for modern consumers.

“The collaboration with Pierre Hermé is a perfect way of showcasing the true craftsmanship of our brands,” Garabato said.

“‘Don’t hold back’ is what we embody in everything we do and here, with our macaron collaboration it symbolises bringing alive Paris in a pint.”
