Minami Koike will return to work with Sakurazaka46
16 May - After a long hiatus, Sakurazaka46 member Minami Koike is set to make her showbiz comeback. She has taken a break from group activities back in October last year due to health-related issue.
The singer shared the good news on her official blog on 13 May, writing that she originally had been feeling anxious every day after being on hiatus for the last six months, and was made worse by looking at her group from the outside.
However, Minami said that she kept hearing the group saying, "Sakurazaka does not leave anyone behind" and that she felt the words hit home.
"And in reading the letters I received from everyone, I started to feel more positive, that I would do my best slowly so that I can return," she said.
Minami said that she is feeling much better nowadays, and that she was able to do more and more each day. She then revealed that she will be resuming her activities with the start of their 9th single.
"There may be times when I will need to borrow your strengths too. But I will do the very best I can right now," she added.
