“Cobra Kai'”s final season“ ”gets 3 premiere dates(!) and a new teaser
Netflix is giving its hit karate comedy a long goodbye.
Netflix is giving Cobra Kai a long goodbye.
The streamer announced today that the sixth and final season of their hit karate comedy will arrive in three parts, beginning with five episodes on Thursday, July 18. Subsequent chapters will arrive on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 28) and on an as-yet-unspecified date in 2025. Netflix also debuted a teaser for season 6, along with eight first-look photos.
The new season finds Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) prepping their students for the prestigious Sekai Taikai tournament in Japan. Though they defeated Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) and his malicious Cobra Kai dojo in season 5, that rivalry is poised to reignite in the final season. The new teaser reveals that sinister John Kreese (Martin Kove) has teamed up with Kim Dae-uen (Alicia Hannah-Kim) to revive Cobra Kai... just in time for the Sekai Taikai, we're guessing? As for whether we've seen the last of Terry Silver, creators/exec producers Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg are playing coy. "It would be premature to count out Terry Silver, even though he's had such a public takedown," Heald told EW after season 5.
But we can say this for sure: Yes, that is an Eagle Fang Karate baby onesie in the first-look photo of Johnny and Carmen (Vanessa Rubio).
