Tiger Woods and Nike Are Finished After 27 Years

Nike has announced via Instagram that its 27 year relationship with Tiger Woods has come to an end, confirming the rumors that began last month. Tiger Woods also confirmed the news on his own channel, saying "the days have been filled with so many amazing moments and memories, if I started naming them, I could go on forever."

One of the most storied partnerships in sports history, the relationship has spanned the entirety of Tiger Woods's professional career starting in 1996 just after he won his third consecutive US Amateur. At the time, the young Woods was already touted as the game's next great player, and he would indeed go on to win 15 majors and 82 PGA Tour events wearing the iconic Swoosh.

Through the years, Tiger's own TW logo and Nike's presence in golf became inseparable, as the two collaborated on numerous Tiger Woods branded golf clubs, shoes and other apparel. At this time, it's unclear whether Tiger will retain the rights to use the TW monogram going forward. As to his next move, Woods said "People will ask if there is another chapter. Yes, there will certainly be another chapter."
