Steve Yap misses "Adoiii Jiwaku!" co-star Adibah Noor

28 Aug - Steve Yap recently expressed sadness that he couldn't celebrate the upcoming release of his movie, "Adoiii Jiwaku!" with the late Adibah Noor.

The director, who spoke about Adibah recently, stated that it had always been a dream of his to cast the late singer in his movie.

"When I was writing this movie, I wanted to have Adibah in it because I was a fan of 'Sepet', which she starred in. I didn't know if she would accept it, but luckily she did," he said.

However, it took Steve four years to finally release the movie, and thus wasn't able to watch it with Adibah, who passed away from cancer in June last year.

"She was already suffering from cancer when she did the movie, but nobody knew. She was very professional even when she had to do a scene that required her to walk a lot," he said.

The upcoming movie, which stars Steve alongside Ali Arami and Ramana Mohan, tells the story of two work colleagues who have to learn to understand each other's values after they experienced a body swap. It is set to be released in September.
