This year, the Star Awards ceremony is getting its boost of international star power with Hong Kong veteran actress Charmaine Sheh and K-pop idol Onew.

The pair are some of the international stars to grace the stage at the annual awards show, according to a press release by Mediacorp on Friday (5 April).

The awards ceremony will be co-hosted by veteran artistes Guo Liang and Dennis Chew.

SHINee’s Onew will be an award presenter and a guest performer, with Taiwanese singer Chao Chuan also taking the stage as a performer.

Sheh and Taiwanese actor Chen Bo-lin will be award presenters, joined by local talents Boon Hui Lu, Felicia Chin, Jeanette Aw, Rebecca Lim, Xiang Yun, Xu Bin, and Zoe Tay.

Walk of Fame to include live acts

The Walk of Fame, hosted by Hazelle Teo, Herman Keh, and Jeff Goh, isn’t just a typical star-studded red carpet. There will also be live acts to entertain, with Nathan Hartono, Jasmine Sokko, Tosh Rock, and Desmond Ng performing.

The fan-favourite Backstage Live programme has also been reimagined into a face-off between Team Outcasts (Xixi Lim, Yan Wei Xiao Er, and Rao Zijie) and Team SGAG (Shawn Thia, Isabelle Quek, and Queenie Lim).

In this seven-hour challenge, each team will be tasked with completing various missions - even while some of them, Star Awards nominees, walk the red carpet themselves.

The SA2024 live show and Walk of Fame will air on Channel 8 and U, mewatch and the Mediacorp Entertainment YouTube Channel, while Backstage Live and highlights of the Gala Night will air exclusively on the latter two platforms.
