It’s the latest feature to be rolled out by the music-streaming giant that aims to help make their service fit a little comfier around your unique music tastes. While this is something the platform has been doing for a while now, Spotify Daylist has a few bespoke abilities that have helped to make it a viral talking point among music fans lately.

So what exactly is it and how can you find it? Here’s everything you need to know about Spotify Daylists.

Spotify Daylist is a relatively new playlist feature that's tailored around your music tastes at particular times of the day and week. For example, users may enjoy listening to something calming on their morning weekday commute yet indulge in a bit of fast-and-loose pop cheese when preparing for a night out when Friday evening rolls around.

Spotify Daylist tailors to these individual moments and provides an ever-evolving playlist of familiar and fresh tracks that match up with the various beats of your day and week.

Unlike the app’s AI DJ feature, Daylists don’t come with a Spotify-generated voice talking users through their track selection process. Instead, they just cut straight to the good stuff - the music.

To find out more about the inner workings of this new feature, tech site Mashable recently spoke to Spotify to get a bit more information about what Daylists can do.

“Daylist updates frequently, bringing together the niche music and microgenres you typically stream at certain times of the day and week,” explained a Spotify spokesperson. “You'll get new tracks at every update, plus a new title that sets the mood of your daylist.”

Despite having a bit of a viral moment on social media of late, the service was actually first introduced back in mid-September 2023 and is available to use now on both the desktop and mobile Spotify apps.

How to find Spotify Daylist

Spotify Daylist couldn’t be easier to find although unlike most new Spotify features, it’s not readily available on your personalised homepage.

Instead, to explore your Spotify Daylist you’ll have to search for it in the app’s search bar. Simply enter ‘Daylist’ and you’ll find your own personalised playlist that’s been tailored to the music you typically listen to at the time you’ve hit ‘search’.

These playlists are designed to be ever-evolving so expect them to change alongside your music tastes.

Why have Spotify Daylists gone vial?

Music fans have been enjoying Daylists since they dropped late last year but they’ve had a viral moment in early 2024 thanks to one specific feature.

Each Daylist comes with its own oddly-specific title which supposedly provides some insight into the music tastes, mentality and personality of users. These titles have led some fans to start a viral trend inviting others to share their Daylist titles and what they say about users.

You may have seen this doing the rounds across X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram stories lately, with users asking: “Don't tell me your astrological sign; I want you to go into Spotify, search for your Daylist, and post the title it gave you.”

Want to find out what your Daylist title says about you? Just search ‘Daylists’ in the Spotify search bar.
