Rita Rudaini understands what Puteri Sarah Liyana is going through

9 Jan – Having experienced the hardship of marital woes in the past, Rita Rudaini recently defended Puteri Sarah Liyana over the latter's decision to air all her "dirty laundry" regarding her marriage to director Syamsul Yusof, who recently tied the knot with Ira Kazar.

The actress, who did the same prior to her divorce from footballer Aidil Zafuan in the past, stated that Puteri Sarah's action of sharing everything on social media was to ensure that all the processes that were carried out went smoothly.

"I don't get why there are some who are angry and question her decision. It may not have happened to you, but it happened to me before. As a celebrity, you can't always stay silent, as people will continue to criticise you. So, the best way is to share everything that is being done," she said.

Rita dismissed the notion that such behaviour is bad, and that they are only human who have children to care for.

"What Sarah went through is similar to what happened to me, but she is lucky to have a strong support in her in-laws," she added.

It is noted that Syamsul Yusof's parents, Datuk Dr Yusof Haslam and Datin Fatimah Ismail have continuously expressed their support for Puteri Sarah Liyana throughout her marriage turmoil, even after Syamsul announced his second marriage to Ira.

Rita also said that despite Puteri Sarah's strong exterior, she believes that the actress is hurting deeply inside.

"Anybody would be affected by that," she added.
