Ren Jialun begins filming "Phoenix Stage"

30 Jan - Ren Jialun's new drama, "Phoenix Stage" has now begun filming.

As reported on BJ News, the costume drama, which stars Ren alongside actress Peng Xiaoran, is adapted from Xie Lounan's novel, "My Queen".

It tells the story of Xiao Huan, who travels to the world and crosses path with Ling Cangcang, who turns out to be his fiancée and political rival's daughter.

The drama reportedly will combine the martial arts and palace politics in the same show.

"Phoenix Stage" is also reported to might be Ren's last drama with his agency, H&R Century Pictures before his contract expires. No news as to whether the actor will renew his contract.

His other dramas this year include, "The Demon Hunter's Romance" and "Burning Flames".
