Pedestrian struck and killed by city bus in Forest Lawn
A pedestrian was struck and killed by a city bus in Forest Lawn early Tuesday morning.
Police say the man was trying to cross 17th Avenue S.E. diagonally toward the northwest corner of the 44th Street intersection when he was hit by a westbound Calgary Transit bus as it went through the intersection on a green light.
Lifesaving efforts by first responders were unsuccessful and the 18-year-old man was declared dead at the scene.
It's not believed that speed or alcohol were factors.
