PAS: Perikatan can take over Selangor, Negeri Sembilan if Khairy and Noh join us
KUALA LUMPUR, June 13 — PAS' Datuk Hashim Jasin reportedly said that Perikatan Nasional (PN) can take over Negeri Sembilan and Selangor from Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the upcoming state elections if ousted Umno members Khairy Jamaluddin and Tan Sri Noh Omar join them.
In a report by Utusan Malaysia, the spiritual adviser for the Islamist party also claimed that suspended former Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein would join the pact after Tan Sri Annuar Musa which did so in Kelantan.
“They have a large following, which, of course, helps. Like Khairy, it will have an impact and it is impossible to help seize Negeri Sembilan,” he told the paper, referring to the duo.
“Similarly, Noh in Selangor will help other than the people who are angry with PH and Umno.”
Hashim pointed to how former Umno member Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim had retained his Arau seat while under PN's ticket, subsequently indirectly helping the coalition to win 17 out of 18 seats in the state.
Last week, Khairy said he would meet Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin this week to discuss the possibility of him joining the party.
Muhyiddin had previously offered Khairy a spot in the Bersatu Supreme Council if he joined the party.
Yesterday, Hishammuddin said that he was never summoned by the party's disciplinary board after his suspension.
Bernama previously reported Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as saying that the party is open to the possibility of reinstating members who were previously suspended.
He said Umno disciplinary board will carefully review each appeal and the party's Supreme Council will make the final decision.
The deputy prime minister also confirmed that Umno has not received any appeals from former members who were expelled from the party.
Other individuals, such as Datuk Maulizan Bujang and Datuk Seri Mohd Salim Shariff, were also suspended, while Khairy Jamaluddin, Tan Sri Annuar Musa, and Tan Sri Noh Omar were sacked from the party.
