A TikTok mom is sharing her rationale behind not buying Christmas gifts for one of her kids.

Tiffany Chesson posted a TikTok video last week, holding her infant as she whispered to the camera, "I'm only buying one of my kids Christmas presents. Here's why."

"I don't have a favorite, I will tell you that for free," the U.K. mom began. "But this one is 3 months old and by the time Christmas rolls around, she'll be about 5. Does she need presents? No she doesn't."

Chesson noted that the infant is "too young to understand, appreciate," adding, "There is literally no point in buying her a Christmas present."

"I don't have the money to buy her a Christmas present. I'm on maternity pay," she added. "My friends and family are going to buy her presents and that's absolutely a-okay. I don't have a problem with someone buying her presents. I'm just not going to do it for her."

Chesson said she'd rather save up and deliver something special next Christmas when the baby is about 18 months old.

"She'll definitely be getting presents then, but for this year, it's a no."

"I think first Christmas should be things they need or keep sake like baubles, stockings, clothes etc.," one commenter wrote, to which Chesson agreed.

Another commenter pointed to a loophole in her rationale, posing the point, "If the older siblings believe in Santa, get her something small so siblings don’t question why Santa didn't get her anything."

"This is a VERY good point tbf Thankyou!" Chesson wrote back.

Some moms were totally in agreement with the unusual standpoint and shared their similar situations.

“My 4th child is only 3 months when Christmas comes around. I’m washing some off the older kids’ baby toys and that’s what gets wrapped,” one person said.

“My son’s 6 months, I’ve spent all my money on my 4-year-old this year! Don’t see the point and I’d rather make a fuss of my 4-year-old,” another viewer commented.
