Maria Leitao assures health after boarding a cruise with ill man

4 Feb – TV personality Maria Luisa Leitao recently assured that she is fine, following news that she was on board the same cruise with a man suspected with the Coronavirus.

As reported on Mingpao, the "Telling Maria" host, who spoke to the media following the incident, shared that she is okay and experienced no symptoms related to the disease following her return.

"I didn't even go out in the streets after coming back to Hong Kong on 25 January. I isolated myself," she said.

Maria, who was on the cruise bound to Hong Kong from Yokohama alongside journalists Chip Tsao and Sharon Cheung, stated that there were not a lot of Hong Kong people on board aside from them.

"The safety measures taken on board were also excellent. You even have to wash your hands before entering the restaurant," she added.

Asked if the situation has affected her work, Maria said that she hasn't had a new project with TVB and has been taking jobs from outside instead.

On the other hand, the 80-year-old male who was suspected with the disease has since been admitted to the hospital.
