Nancy Rodriguez found love again after having her heart broken on Love Is Blind season 3. And while she doesn’t feel the need to rush to the altar again, Rodriguez does have a timeline for when she hopes to say “I do” to her new man.

“I am in my mid-30s and in two years, I want to be engaged to be married, or married already,” Rodriguez, 34, told PEOPLE at the Wildly Better Well-Being event celebrating the launch of Roxanne Kaiser’s Proxy gummies in N.Y.C. on June 21. “I know in a year if I want to continue with you, and I do. So, let's give it another year to continue to get to know each other.”

The Netflix reality star revealed that she recently froze her eggs, which made her less concerned about the timeline with her boyfriend, who she started dating in early 2023 and has not identified publicly.

“At that time, I felt like, ‘OK, I'm turning 35 this year. I've got pressure that my biological clock is ticking.’ So I found myself being a little more worried about like, so are we going to get married?” Rodriguez admitted. “After freezing my eggs and him going through this process with me and being supportive, it made me realize is that my biological clock is in no one's hands. I can continue to live my life and continue to learn in my relationship.”

Rodriguez said that, while she does hope to be a mom “one day,” right now she wants to make sure she finds “someone who can ride or die with me.”

“At the end of the day, in 55 years from now, I want to be married to my best friend regardless of the money, the physical attraction, everything else that comes in with it,” she explained. “I want to be with my best friend, and I want to leave a legacy behind.”

In order to ensure she and her boyfriend feel ready to take that step towards forever, they plan to start going to couples therapy together.

“You don't have to be in crisis mode to have therapy. You don't have to be crazy to go to therapy,” Rodriguez said. “It can be proactive.”

The real estate investor hopes that a therapist will “give insight into our relationship” and help her and her boyfriend “grow stronger before making the decision to take the next step.”

“I'm really looking forward for us to continue to connect,” Rodriguez, who first sought therapy after filming Love Is Blind, said. “I think that if [therapy] was more of a norm, it might actually help people to move on who maybe shouldn't be together if that's not their calling.”

Rodriguez described her boyfriend as “a big advocate for mental health” who has “such a big heart.” She shared that he works in education consulting with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion an work to help colleges “get access to people who look like us — people of color.”

“Watching him move inspires me to continue to better myself,” she said. “If I can just ask that of a life partner, I want that for 55 years.”
