Cat owner finishes KL marathon with pet on his shoulder, winning over social media users (VIDEO)
KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 3 — A Malaysian and his cat companion are currently making waves amongst local TikTok users for finishing a 10 kilometre marathon.
A video shared by TikTok user I am Jibek featured him participating in the recent Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) with his pet cat named Jibek.
The one-minute and 16 seconds video showed the owner who recorded himself at KLSCM carrying a backpack with Jibek sitting on top of it, enduring the run with him.
The owner was also equipped with an electronic fan which he occasionally used to fan Jibek.
He and Jibek managed to complete the 10 kilometre marathon in one hour and 32 minutes.
This is not the first time the owner had brought Jibek to marathons as he has shared videos of him participating in such activities with his feline companion previously.
His TikTok post has garnered over 35,000 views along with over 3,000 likes, with TikTok users amused by Jibek.
“You’re a lucky cat Jibek, your owner was the one who ran but the fan is for you,” commented user Aeizmuhamad.
“Congratulations. Although he (Jibek) didn’t run at all, he looks as if he ran the whole way, he even had the fan for himself,” added user Iyra_2110.
The owner via the comment section shared that he had trained Jibek to participate in activities with him since Jibek was six month old and this year was their first time participating in marathons.
Aside from TikTok, the owner shared the video on his Instagram which has garnered over a thousand likes.
