Bollywood couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor announce birth of 'magical girl'

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 — Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt welcomed their firstborn on Sunday (Nov 6) at a Mumbai hospital.

Alia, who married Ranbir in April, shared the happy news via her Instagram.

Saying the yet to be named baby is a “magical girl”, Alia described it as the best news of their lives.

“We are officially bursting with love, blessed and obsessed parents, love love love, Ranbir and Alia,” she wrote.

Indian Express reported that the couple announced Alia’s pregnancy soon after their marriage.

She also went on to launch her own maternity brand Edamamma.

Despite the pregnancy, the couple kept themselves busy with movie projects.

Ranbir starred in Shamshera and Brahmastra, while Alia was featured in Gangubai Kathiawadi, Darlings, RRR and Brahmastra.

Alia had previously been reported as saying that she and Ranbir would take turns to film while caring for the baby.

She has two movies in the pipeline namely Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and Heart of Stone.
