Actor-Producer Esha Bargate Launches Production Company To Challenge How Hollywood Sees India
EXCLUSIVE: Actor-producer Esha Bargate is launching a production company that aims to challenge how Hollywood views and portrays Indian culture and society.
Esha Bargate Productions will be based in San Francisco, with a stated aim to bring stories from Southeast Asia into the international mainstream.

The India-born Bargate is a former marketing executive whose television credits include Health Mantra with Esha for St Louis’ Fox2 KTVI, Flavors of STL on STL TV and has a lead role in sitcom Patel Motel.
Bargate said she is following in the likes of footsteps of Anushka Sharma, an another actress who ventured into film production through Clean Slate Film; Balaji Telefilms founder Ekta Kapoor; and Zoya Akhtar, the director who founded Tiger Baby Films.
The producer’s debut slate comprises Beginnings, a 30–45-minute episodic unscripted series; Trend Starters, a global challenge format in which young entrepreneurs compete in a battle of innovation and strategy; and Gray Skies, a short film about an eight-year-old Syrian refugee and a homeless U.S. veteran with PTSD that portrays the universal impact of trauma.
“We offer distinctive content tailored for Western audiences, with the aim of engaging viewers in both North America and Southeast Asia,” said Bargate.
“My background as a marketing executive in the TV production department has equipped me with a deep understanding of marketing strategies specific to content. This expertise is what sets us apart in effectively reaching audiences across these regions and influencing them.”
