Zendaya's Long Black Gown Shimmered Like the Eiffel Tower
Louis Vuitton's Prelude to the Olympics event was the real opening ceremony.
We're all counting down the hours to the Olympics Opening Ceremony tomorrow—the actual games are already underway, with events like rugby and soccer starting earlier this week—and in what may be the biggest event pre-Lady Gaga and Celine Dion, the stars arrived in the City of Light to celebrate in style. Zendaya was among the A-listers at the Prelude to the Olympics event, held at the Fondation Louis Vuitton. For the occasion, the Louis Vuitton ambassador wore a long, black LV column-style dress with thin, delicate spaghetti straps and allover beading that made her shimmer and shine like the light show that graces the Eiffel Tower after dark.
The Euphoria star also carried a tiny, hard-sided Vuitton top-handle bag and wore her blonde hair pushed back. She skipped out on a necklace and bracelets (a rare move for the Bvlgari spokeswoman) and added a dash more sparkle with a pair of sparkling stud earrings.
Charlize Theron, Snoop Dogg, Tyla, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Angel Reese, Naomi Osaka, Jeremy Allen White, Vuitton's very own Pharrell Williams, Serena Williams, and Eileen Gu were also in attendance at the event, which was a way for LVMH, which is a sponsor at this year's Olympiad, to kick off the 2024 games.
Zendaya is no stranger to channeling her inner Sporty Spice. Earlier this year, her super-sexy tennis film, Challengers, ushered in fashion's obsession with tenniscore and offered up a way for her to return to main-character dressing, which she championed during her Dune: Part Two press extravaganza.
For anyone waiting for more Euphoria, there is hope. After taking a hiatus after its sophomore season, star Coleman Domingo shared that he's set to start filming the series again early next year. Deadline previously reported that many of the show's cast members would be returning and that HBO was eyeing a similar timeframe to get everything rolling.
