Zendaya's Latest Tennis-Inspired Look Was First Worn by Cindy Crawford — and the Supermodel Approved It!

Zendaya’s tennis-inspired style parade on her Challengers promo tour continues with a nod to legendary supermodel Cindy Crawford.
On Sunday, April 14, the 27-year-old superstar posed for promotional photos in Milan, Italy in a crisp, white halter-style minidress and matching white pumps. Crawford, now 58, originally modeled the Ralph Lauren dress during the iconic label's New York Fashion Week show in 1991.
Zendaya’s freshly blonde hair was styled into a bouncy, side-parted bob — similar to how Crawford’s longer locks appeared on the runway in 1991 — and she accessorized with minimal jewelry.
The Euphoria star’s look, courtesy of her longtime stylist and collaborator Law Roach, received a stamp of approval from Crawford.
“@Zendaya serving it up in one of my favorite @poloralphlauren dresses!” the model wrote on Instagram Stories along with a photo of Zendaya’s look.
Over the weekend, Zendaya sported a similar all-white ensemble inspired by American tennis player and professional golfer Althea Gibson. The outfit consisted of a sleeveless white polo, high-waisted pleated skirt and white sneakers.
“Earlier today in Monaco!” Roach captioned an Instagram post of the look. “Special THANK YOU to the team at @on running for recreating the ICONIC tennis white of Althea Gibson.”
Zendaya’s tennis-inspired looks are the latest in her on-theme dressing for the promo tour of Challengers, a Luca Guadagnino-directed film in which the actress portrays a tennis player turned coach who finds herself in a love triangle. Ahead of the film’s premiere on April 16, Zendaya has dominated red carpets with a slew of athletic-themed attire.
In Australia, the star turned heads in a glittering green gown by Jonathan Anderson that featured a plunging neckline, dramatic slit and graphic of a figure hitting a tennis ball with a racket.
During her trip down under, Zendaya also debuted the ultimate athleisure-chic look with a custom tank top and sheer skirt with briefs by Lacoste (the brand was founded in 1933 by tennis legend René Lacoste, who earned seven Grand Slams throughout his career and introduced a lightweight polo to the courts).

The star has paid special attention to accessories, too. In Paris, she wore a silver pleated dress by Loewe and white stilettos with a neon yellow tennis ball punctured through each heel.
At the film’s UK premiere, which took place at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London, Zendaya stunned in a floor-length white collared gown with tiny tennis rackets embroidered all over it. Her hair was styled in a long braid and secured with a white ribbon.
