Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has once again invited former U.S. President Donald Trump to visit Ukraine, after Trump said he could end the war in Ukraine “very quickly” if he returns to the White House in 2025.

Zelenskyy made these remarks in an interview with UK’s Channel 4 News, which was published on Jan. 19.

“Donald Trump, I invite you to Ukraine, to Kyiv,” said Zelenskyy.

“So, if you can stop the war in 24 hours, I think it would be easy enough for you to visit on any day when I am here.”

He also commented on Trump's claims that he would end the war in Ukraine "within 24 hours" if he becomes U.S. president again. According to Zelenskyy, these statements are of little concern if they are simply political campaigning rhetoric.

“But if it is some kind of [diplomatic] formula, I need to know,” he noted.

On Jan. 16, Trump suggested that his personal relationship with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin would enable him to end the war in Ukraine.

“I know President Putin very well. I know Zelenskyy very well,” he said.

“We’re going to get it solved very quickly.”
