Zelenskiy says Ukraine needs EU oil embargo
STORY: In a video address to Slovakia's parliament, Zelenskiy told the Slovakian lawmakers that he understood that Slovakia could not stop importing Russian oil and gas immediately.
He said countries should wean themselves off Russian energy was a matter of freedom, adding that "protecting freedom has its price."
Slovakia is seeking an exemption from any embargo of Russian oil agreed by the European Union in the EU’s 6th sanctions package, Slovakia's Economy Ministry said on May 3.
