Zahiril Adzim retrains Muay Thai for "Siku 12: Langkah Derhaka"
12 Oct – Zahiril Adzim recently admitted that he had to go on training with a Muay Thai Club prior to starring in his new movie, "Siku 12: Langkah Derhaka".
The actor, who plays a Northern Thai man named A Wut in the martial arts-heavy movie, shared that he knows the basics of the martial arts having starred in the 2011 movie, "Bunohan".
"It did help me a bit while shooting the movie, but at the same time, I went on training with the members of Kelab Pon Muay Thai in Kedah to master the fighting scenes before filming," he said.
Asked if he sustained any injury while filming the movie, Zahiril said that it can't be prevented due to the nature of the film.
"This is normal when you do an action movie because you do have to look like a real fighter in the ring," he said.
As for his Thai dialect, Zahiril said that he was helped by a Malay-Thai member of the club with his accent.
The movie stars Zahiril Adzim and Syafiq Kyle as two best friends who find themselves having a fall out after one of them discovers a new martial arts technique called Siku 12.
The upcoming movie will be released on 27 October in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei.
