KUALA LUMPUR, May 13 — Barisan Nasional (BN) deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has been tasked to negotiate the distribution of seats with its Pakatan Harapan (PH) partner in the upcoming elections in six states, The Star reported last night.

BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the task was entrusted to Mohamad, popularly known as Tok Mat, as the latter is also the BN election director.

“All the potential candidates for Barisan will be brought up for discussion at the coalition's state and federal levels.

“Last night, we discussed this among the Barisan leadership and I have given the responsibility to Barisan election director Mohamad Hasan.

“He will listen to any input and requests from component parties and God willing, when this is settled at state level, it will then be brought up to the highest coalition leadership for a final decision,” Ahmad Zahid was quoted telling reporters at the Perlis Umno Aidilfitri open house in Arau.

He said he would then discuss BN’s final list with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is also PH chairman.
