How Zac Efron Celebrated His 33rd Birthday in Byron Bay
Here's something that will suddenly make you feel really old: Zac Efron, star of High School Musical (2006) turns 33 today. In 2020, the year of the coronavirus pandemic, birthday boy Zefron is nowhere near the U.S.—in fact, he's in Australia, and he has been for a while.
Ahead of his actual birthday, Efron celebrated with a few of his pals in the area: according to The Daily Mail and the Daily Telegraph, radio host Kyle Sandilands and girlfriend Tegan Kynaston, professional tennis player Pat Rafter, and Chris Hemsworth's dad, Craig, were all in attendance. Efron's girlfriend, model Vanessa Valladares, was also there for his big day.
Per the Daily Telegraph, Chris and his brother Liam were invited but no one saw them show up at the venue in Byron Bay.
Efron seems to have a pretty strong contingent of friends where he is; he's reportedly decided to make his home there in the wake of the pandemic. According to a report from TMZ in August, Efron is making a permanent plan to move out of L.A and is tired of the Hollywood life. He also has what appears to be a fast-moving relationship with Valladares.
"Zac met Ness earlier in the summer," a source told People earlier this year. "They started hanging out in July and recently took a ski trip together." The pair keeps their relationship out of the public eye, at least where social media is concerned. Neither has posted anything of their S.O. on Instagram. The last photo Efron posted was this shot, six weeks ago, of himself lounging in a hammock.
