Yusof Haslam has no intention to meet Kazar over marriage issue

10 Jan – Datuk Yusof Haslam would rather not meet with actor Kazar Saisi, the father of Ira Kazar who recently married his son, Syamsul Yusof.

The filmmaker, who was asked if the two parties would speak to each other, stated that there is nothing for them to discuss, seeing that what's done is done. He only found out about his son's second marriage in Thailand after Syamsul announced it on social media.

"I don't want to know about Kazar. We were never close anyway. Even when we see each other outside, we would simply greet one another. Even in the four to five years that this had been going on, I never asked him anything," he said.

Asked if Kazar would want to meet the family, Yusof declined to comment as a respect to many parties including his wife, Datin Patimah Ismail.

It is noted that Datin Patimah previously slammed Kazar for helping the couple tie the knot in Thailand, becoming 'wali' (legal guardian) to his daughter in the marriage ceremony in Thailand, and consequently destroying the marriage between Syamsul and Puteri Sarah Liyana.

"My wife is deeply hurt by what happened. I think enough has been said. Syamsul is still my son and as a father, I will wish him well," he added.
