‘Younger’ Season 7 to Premiere on Paramount Plus

The seventh and final season of Darren Star’s “Younger,” starring Sutton Foster and Hilary Duff, will debut first on Paramount Plus before it airs on TV Land later this year, announced ViacomCBS at its big streaming presentation Wednesday.

The last season, which is 12 episodes long, does not yet have a set premiere date. The move to put the popular series on the streamer comes as ViacomCBS is looking to publicize the launch of Paramount Plus, which is being rebranded from CBS All Access on March 4.

Paramount Plus shares the SVOD rights with Hulu, which previously exclusively hosted the “Younger” series library.

“With Younger, Darren Star has done it once again, creating a generational defining series that has captured millions of fans who are craving more and we are excited to pay that off with the final season on Paramount+,” said Chris McCarthy, president of the MTV Entertainment Group.

Star, the creator of “Sex and the City,” last July inked an overall production and development deal with ViacomCBS’ MTV Entertainment group for the division’s linear and alternate platforms. His first series out of the gate was “Emily in Paris” for Netflix, which was twice-nominated for a Golden Globe this year and is about to begin production on its second season.

“Younger” is created, executive produced and written by Darren Star and Darren Star Productions, with Tony Hernandez of JAX Media executive producing. MTV Entertainment Studios also produces. Dottie Zicklin, Eric Zicklin and Alison Brown are executive producers and writers on the series. ViacomCBS MTV Entertainment Studios’ Keith Cox and Antonia Covault are the execs overseeing production.
