Yorkshire Field Burned as Fire Service Declares Major Incident

Emergency services declared a major incident in Yorkshire as several fires broke out in the English county on July 19, during a record-breaking heatwave in the United Kingdom.

Temperatures in the UK exceeded 40°C (104°F) for the first time, the Met Office said.

South Yorkshire Fire Service said it issued the declaration “due to the demand on services from fires across the county.”
