New Yorkers Line Up Early for COVID-19 Testing as Cases Surge Citywide

Long lines at testing centers were reported in New York City and elsewhere in the US on Saturday, November 21, as coronavirus cases surged ahead of Thanksgiving.

The person who took this video in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood said a line had formed outside an urgent-care clinic before it opened at 9 am.

As of Saturday, New York City had reported 275,986 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 19,517 deaths. Mayor Bill de Blasio reported 1,345 new cases on Saturday, tweeting that the seven-day positivity rate in the city was 3.11 percent. Credit: Hannah Beery via Storyful
