New York Sets Single Day COVID-19 Case Record Amid Omicron Spread
Long lines for COVID-19 tests were seen across the New York City area on December 17, as state officials announced record positive cases.
New York State recorded 21,027 cases on Friday, breaking a previous record set in January. Of those cases, 10,286 were from tests in New York City.
New York health officials said this week that the Omicron coronavirus variant was spreading rapidly in the city.
