New York Knicks Fans Celebrate Playoff Win by Destroying Kevin Durant Jersey

New York Knicks fans were seen celebrating in the streets after their recent playoff win on May 2 by destroying a Kevin Durant jersey.

Durant was once rumored to be joining the Knicks, and recently left the Brooklyn Nets to join the Phoenix Suns.

Footage recorded outside Madison Square Garden shows a group of fans cheering as a person attempts to light the jersey on fire. An NYPD officer is then seen intervening by telling the fans “no fire,” which prompts the New Yorkers to tear up the jersey and chant “f*** KD” instead.

“A few years ago he was rumored to be coming to the Knicks, and then signed with Brooklyn instead,” the source who recorded the video told Storyful.

They added that the resentment directed toward Durant, who was not involved in Tuesday’s game, stems from a viral video dating back to 2021, where a Knicks fan enthusiastically asks, “Tell me a little something, KD. Don’t you regret not coming to the Knicks?”
