New York City Subway Celebrates 118th Anniversary

New York City’s subway system celebrated 118 years of service on Thursday, October 27, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).

Richard Davey, New York City Transit President, visited subway stations to meet with riders and employees, the MTA said.

Davey was joined by New York Transit Museum Director Concetta Bencivenga who noted that "New York and its iconic subway have been inextricably linked since October 27, 1904.”
