New York City Flies Flags at Half-Staff to Honor Texas Mall Shooting Victims

New York City Mayor Eric Adams ordered flags remain lowered at half-staff outside federal buildings to honor the victims of the mass shooting in Allen, Texas, on Saturday, May 6.

The flags had been at half mast for the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service and would remain lowered until sunset on Thursday, per the mayor’s order, in accordance with an official White House proclamation.

Eight people were killed in the shooting at the Allen Premium Outlets shopping center in the Dallas suburb. The suspect was shot and killed by a police officer. Credit: City of New York via Storyful
