Yan Ng faces drop in business sales since the pandemic

6 Apr – Hong Kong singer Yan Ng recently admitted that her bento business is in dire state following the COVID-19 outbreak which has now turned into a full-fledge pandemic.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who has been focusing a lot on her business since marriage, stated that the pandemic has caused a huge drop in sales of her three shops, from hundreds of thousands to only five digits.

"We have already applied for help from the Li Ka Shing Foundation and the government, but both funds can only help us for a month," she said.

Yan stated that for now, she has been begging her landlords to reduce rents on the shops, though some are only willing to reduce a small percentage of the amount.

"For now, there is no need to lay off or reduce labour temporarily. I hope we could ride out the difficulties together," she added.

Now that they are prohibited from getting customers to the premise, Yan said that they have been doing deliveries to make money.

"I even sent lunch boxes to the hospital for medical staff. You should do it if you can," she added.
