Protesters with the climate activism group Extinction Rebellion smashed windows at an office of investment bank JP Morgan in London on the morning of September 1.
This footage shows what Extinction Rebellion said was a group of eight women involved in the protest, as glass is broken and stickers saying “In case of climate emergency, break glass” are posted outside what they called the “world’s worst bank”.
Extinction Rebellion UK said: “Barclays, HSBC and JP Morgan have been targeted to highlight the banks’ suicidal business model which is pushing the planet to breaking point. JP Morgan is the world’s worst bank for funding fossil fuels, having invested $317bn into them since the Paris Climate Agreement was signed 5 years ago.”
