Worker Injured as Crane Collapses on Two DC Buildings

A construction worker was seriously injured and two people were assessed by medics after a crane collapsed onto a townhouse and a building under construction in Washington on March 17, emergency services said.

This footage, released by DC Fire and EMS, shows the damaged house. A second clip shows the injured worker being moved to the ground by a cherry picker.

According to the fire department, the crane struck a building under construction and a neighboring occupied building on 11th Street NW.

The construction worker sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while a resident and a caretaker of the townhouse that was struck were checked for injuries but did not require treatment, the fire department said. Credit: DC Fire and EMS via Storyful
