Wong Hing Fan wants to work on his communication skills

28 Sep – Although many praised the casting of his movie, "I'm Livin' It" and the result of his hard work, Wong Hing Fan admitted that he still has a lot to learn when it comes to directing.

As reported on Mingpao, the director who sat down for an interview recently, confessed that he still has to work on his communication skills and the way to express what he wants with his actors, even though he has already worked as assistant director for many years now.

"Although Aaron Kwok had opinions, everyone communicated and reached consensus before filming. On the contrary, Miriam Yeung was working on [TVB's] "Wonder Women" at the time and there was insufficient communication between us and she had doubts about what I proposed," he said.

It was not until the premiere at the Tokyo International Film Festival that the actress came up to him to tell him that she finally understood why he asked her to do the things he wanted.

"It's my own fault for being a novice director. I wasn't great at expressing what I wanted. I am still learning. Miriam is actually a very smart actress who can give you lots, but you have to be able to express what you want," he added.
