Members of Parliament congratulated Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds on the birth of their son on April 29, days after Johnson returned to Downing Street after recovering from the coronavirus.
Labour leader Keir Starmer described it as “wonderful news.”
Starmer said: “Can I add my congratulations and the congratulations of the Labour Party, and I’m sure everybody in this House, to the Prime Minister and Carrie Symonds on the birth of their baby boy. Whatever differences we have in this House, Mr Speaker, as human beings I think we all recognise the anxiety that the Prime Minister and Carrie must have gone through in these past few weeks – unimaginable anxiety. So I really hope that this brings them incredible relief and joy.” Credit: Parliament TV via Storyful
