Woman Praises 'Brave' Response to Fire That Broke Out as Hurricane Isaias Hit North Carolina

Multiple units of the Horry County Fire and Rescue service were on the scene of a fire involving several buildings in the Ocean Isle Beach area of North Carolina late on August 3 and into August 4, as Hurricane Isaias hit the area.

Morgan Strenk, who recorded this footage, praised the “brave” first responders, who got the fire under control in difficult conditions. Video she posted separate to the fire showed flooding, and damage and debris from the high winds.

The National Hurricane Center announced that the storm made landfall near Ocean Isle Beach at around 11:30 pm on August 3 with wind speeds of up to 85 miles per hour.
