Woman Fined After Attempting to Cross into Queensland Concealed in Car Boot

An Australian woman was fined by police after attempting to cross the border between Queensland and New South Wales in the boot of a car on board a tow truck on August 18, according to police.

The border between Queensland and New South Wales is under heavy restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with New South Wales border zone residents only able to cross the border for an essential purpose.

In the bodycam footage, officers find the woman hiding under piles of blankets and clothes in the boot of the car.

Police said the woman was twice refused entry to Queensland at the same border on two previous occasions.

The woman was sent back to New South Wales and fined $4,135 for breaching COVID-19 restrictions, police said. Credit: Queensland Police via Storyful
