Winter Weather Causes Icy Roads in Northern Minnesota as Temperatures Plunge

Winter weather, including blowing snow and freezing drizzle, swept parts of northern Minnesota on Friday, November 11, prompting officials to warn of treacherous road conditions.

Footage posted to Twitter by the National Weather Service’s Duluth office shows slippery conditions in their parking lot in the early hours of Friday.

“Our parking lot became an ice skating rink overnight,” they said in the post. “Your local road might have too! Be super careful on any untreated roads!” they added.

Temperatures in the low teens were possible throughout the weekend, local media reported. Credit: NWS Duluth via Storyful
