Winter Storm Hits Virginia With Heavy Snow

Virginia saw more than a foot of snow in some parts as a winter storm impacted the area on Monday, January 3.

Video taken by Sean O’Brien shows the accumulation in Alexandria around noontime on Monday.

“It is wild out here. So much snow,” O’Brien says as his dog, Parker, leaps around.

The National Weather Service reported measurements of 10.7 inches of snow in Alexandria by 8 pm on Monday. Fredericksburg received more than 14 inches, the service said.
