Winter Storm Dumps Heavy Snow on Greater Washington Area

A powerful winter storm dumped heavy snow over much of the Washington, DC, area on the morning of January 3.

According to local reports, as much as 8 inches of snow had fallen by late morning in areas south of the city. Several more inches were expected to fall in the region throughout the day.
