'Winter Just Doesn't Want to Give Up': Rare May Snowstorm Turns Idaho Into Winter Wonderland
An unexpected May snowstorm transformed parts of Idaho into a winter wonderland on Monday, May 9, as the National Weather Service reported one of the snowiest Mays on record.
This footage, posted to Facebook by Margie Pulver Cook, shows several inches of snow near her home in Cascade, a small town in western Idaho. “Yes, this is May 9,” Cook says in the footage. “This is what we woke up to … Winter just does not want to give up,” she added.
Other social media posts from the area recorded as much as 6 inches of snow.
