Windsor police seize $200k in drugs, charge 2 people
Two people have been charged, and Windsor police have seized almost $200,000 in drugs, after an early-morning search on Friday.
Members of the Drugs and Guns Enforcement unit conducted a search warrant on a home and car in east Windsor, police said in a statement, after a two-month-long investigation into what officers allege is a drug network with connections to Toronto.
During the search, officers seized more than 1,300 grams of cocaine and more than 200 grams of fentanyl, as well as quantities of crystal meth, meth and oxycodone tablets. They also recovered drug paraphernalia, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and more than $1,500 in Canadian and American money.
A 28-year-old is facing five charges drug possession for trafficking, nine counts each of possession of prohibiting an unauthorized weapon, knowing it is unauthorized and possession of a prohibited weapon while prohibited.
A 30-year-old has been charged with four counts of possession of drugs for trafficking, as well as nine counts of unlawful possession of a prohibited device
