Winds Topple Utility Pole in Toledo, Ohio

A utility pole was toppled in west Toledo, Ohio, on November 27 as high winds battered several states, including Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania.

Video captured by Toledo resident James Ten Eyck shows the moment the pole was blown down.

A high wind warning was in effect in Toledo until 11 pm Wednesday, with the National Weather Service forecasting wind speeds of up to 35 mph, and gusts up to 60 mph.

The weather service warned that “damaging winds” would “blow down trees and power lines,” causing power outages across north-central and northwest Ohio. Credit: James Ten Eyck via Storyful
