William Shatner tickled This Morning viewers when he complimented Eamonn Holmes on his “little round Irish face”.
The Star Trek actor was on the ITV show for an interview with presenter Holmes, who said Shatner was one of his childhood heroes. The pair were chatting about Shatner’s new show I Don’t Understand when the 90-year-old made the comment about Holmes’ looks.

Shatner said of his programme: “It’s about anything I don’t understand, so it leaves it open to any subject. I’m talking about mysteries, [and even now] I’m talking to this television right now… and do you know what a miracle this is, this Zoom? I’m talking to you across the water - I’m looking at you and you’re beautiful with your little round Irish face and I’m delighted to see it!”
Holmes looked amused and viewers thought the remark was hilarious.
"William Shatner just told Eamonn Holmes he had a beautiful little round Irish face and I roared," one person posted on Twitter.
Another said it “made my morning”.
Others shared crying with laughter emojis and one person called Shatner “a legend” after his comment.
Holmes told viewers he was a huge fan of Star Trek when he was younger and that his chat with Shatner was a dream come true.
“I got the opportunity to interview William Shatner. An absolutely amazing man," he said.
