Wildlife returns to polluted Brazil river

Sao Paulo's govt has launched a project to clean the river

It's one of the country's biggest environmental projects

PRICE TAG: $735 million

is being invested

NAME: JOAO DORIA, SAO PAULO GOVERNOR:

"We have already removed 30,000 tonnes of surface garbage from the river. Today we have 20 boats working daily to clean the Pinheiros River."

It's hoped new bike paths and cafes along the river

will help locals feel more invested in keeping it clean
