Wildfire Leaves Charred Landscape Near Marmaris, Turkey

A vacationer surveyed the blackened landscape along the road between the resorts of İcmeler and Marmaris as wildfires continued to rage in southern Turkey on August 2.

Video shared by Nina Terekhova shows the charred vegetation along the mountainous road, while hillsides in the distance also show signs of fire damage.

The death toll from the devastating wildfires in Turkey had risen to eight by August 1, reports citing health officials said.

Turkey’s Minister of Agriculture and Forestry said fire crews had brought under control some 129 forest fires burning in 31 provinces over the previous six days.
